Our Response to COVID-19


During this unprecedented time, when the world has come together to practice social distancing and temporarily change daily life as we’ve known it, our focus is on the health of our guests, as well as our staff. As of now, we are planning on opening our doors mid-June as part of the Phase 2 re-opening plan, and will heed the advice of the Governor as time continues with decisions that protect the health and safety of our community. As this situation is ever evolving, we ask that you consider waiting until closer to your travel dates before making a decision about your summer trip.

Although the City of Provincetown has postponed or canceled some of the large theme weeks, what isn't canceled are the glistening streets with lively locals, harbor beaches, and the sunshine we have all been waiting to bask in. When you do choose to come to the White Wind Inn, a seat on the porch will be waiting for you.

For our guests, in addition to upholding the high sanitation standards our guests are accustomed to, we have now doubled our efforts to host you in a home where you will rest assured that your health and safety is taken seriously by all of our staff. Some of these efforts include:

  • Thoroughly disinfecting every surface in the room, including handles, keys, doorknobs, light switches, faucets, tables and desks, pens, buttons & remote controls regularly and after each reservation.

  • Providing hand-sanitizer in public areas.

  • Thoroughly disinfecting every surface in common areas, multiple times per day, including door knobs; handles; microwaves; coffee makers; and sinks, toilets, faucets and handles in the shared bathroom.

  • Breakfast is prepared by ServSafe certified personnel who follow stringent hygienic protocols and procedures to maintain complete sanitation.

  • If you would prefer to have disposable cups in the room instead of reusable ones, we now have that option for you.

  • We can also arrange for contactless check-in and check-out for any guests upon request.

If you are unable to join us this summer, we encourage you to consider postponing your trip before canceling. We are happy to rebook your reservation for a future stay and are committed to keeping your business by honoring 2020 rates through September 2021. Any deposits we receive can be applied towards that stay.

If you prefer to receive a refund of your deposit, we can provide this minus a 10% processing fee to cover our costs. Please contact us so that we can make this as smooth as possible for you.

Cancellation Policy


If you need to cancel or change reservations, 14 days advance notice is required to receive a refund of the deposit minus a service fee of 10% of the cost of the stay. All reservations canceled or changed with less than 14 days notice will be required to pay the deposit. Cancellations made less than 48 hours will be required to pay full charges of the stay. There is no refund for early departure.

Reservation Policies


When making your reservation, please keep the following in mind:

  • All reservation requests are subject to availability and minimum stay requirements.

  • Room occupancy is based on up to two people. A third guest is an additional $35 per night.

  • All rates are subject to change without notice and do not include taxes.

  • A 50% deposit is required to confirm your reservation.

  • There is a 5 night minimum required throughout the summer.

  • Holidays and special events may require higher rates and/or higher minimum stays.

  • Deposits on rooms canceled during the summer or holiday/special events are non-refundable*.

Summer or holiday rates include the following (but are not limited to):

  • Memorial Weekend - May

  • Bear Week - July

  • Carnival - August

  • Labor Day Weekend - September

  • Columbus Weekend - October

  • Women's Week - October

  • New Year & Christmas Holidays - December

Payment of the balance of the bill is due at check-in in the form of credit card, cash or check.

Check-in is between 3:00 pm and 9:00 pm (if arriving after 6:00 pm, please provide your arrival time). Check-out is 11:00 am for guests and their cars.

Dog Policy


The White Wind Inn is a dog-friendly bed and breakfast and look forward to welcoming you and your furry friend during your stay. We offer pet-friendly and pet-free rooms. We, the owners, have two dogs and one cat that occupy the premises. They will be present in the common areas (except during breakfast hours) and are kept out of guest rooms at all times. If you have any questions or concerns regarding our pets or your own pets, please do not hesitate to contact us. To help us stay dog-friendly, and to ensure a positive experience for you, your dog and the rest of our guests, please read through our dog policy below.

We offer five dog-friendly rooms: the Morgan Room, Blue Room, Admiral Room, Key West and Crow's Nest. (Please note the change in rooms from the previous owners' policy). There is a $15.00 per night dog fee (up to $75 max per stay). We can accommodate one dog per reservation.

We hold every dog owner accountable to the following:

  • Dogs are allowed to pass through the common areas, outside of breakfast hours.

  • They are welcome on the outdoor spaces on our property, on a leash and supervised.

  • Dogs must be kept quiet at all times. If the dog cannot be left alone in the room without making noise, they must be taken with you.

  • If your dog will chew on anything in the room, keep them crated while you’re out of the room.

  • Dogs that continue to disrupt the operation of the Inn cannot remain as guests.

  • The owner is responsible for keeping their dog up to date on vaccinations and other health requirements.

  • Dogs cannot be kept in cars.

  • If you wish to take your pet to the beach and would like to hose them down upon return, we would be glad to provide you with pet towels for drying. Please do not use bathroom facilities or guest towels.

  • If damage occurs, please report it prior to checkout. Owners are responsible for the cost of repairs, and/or replacement.

  • Please walk your pet on public property and pick up after them. There are many public trash cans throughout Commercial Street to dispose of your dogs’ used poop bags. In fact, Provincetown has its own dog park, the Pilgrim Bark Park!

While we love all dogs, our insurance does not allow us to have the following breeds on the premises: Akita, Chow, Doberman, Fila, German Shepherd, Pit Bull, Presa Canario, Rottweiler, Shiba Inu, and Wolf Hybrid.
